The Freedom Five are five faith challenges that we have for the people of Freedom Church.  Our expectation is for each believer to realize each of these within a five year span, and then continue these practices throughout their life.  These five are simple and yet very hard to do.  They areas where we believe each person needs to be challenged and we have ask each one to accept the Freedom Five challenge as a way to grow in their faith.

Lead - We challenge the people of Freedom Church to be personally responsible for leading at least one person to Christ in the next 5 years; and then continue that for the rest of their life. We believe this is a very effective way for the message of Jesus to spread in our world, and for each one to carry their faith to this world. In Luke 19:1-10 Jesus sought out Zacchaeus and cared for him for the purpose of sharing God’s truth with Him. When we each take this challenge to heart, we can change our world for Christ.

Read - At the beginning of each calendar year, we challenge people to read through the Bible together.  We have both reading plans, and One Year Bibles available for people to use.  It is more than just about reading through God’s word regularly; We want people to deeply value God’s word in their lives. 2 Timothy 3:16 says, All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. It is in knowing and living out God’s word that equips us for the good works He has for us.

Go - We challenge people to go on a mission trip within the first five years of you attending Freedom Church.  If you are physically unable to go, we ask that you help send someone on a mission work through one of our missions programs. In Matthew 28:19 Jesus gave us a command and not a suggestion when He spoke these words; “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”  Freedom church is committed to sending our people to do missions works around the world. Be sure and look to sign up for one of our “GO” projects.

Give - This is our challenge to follow God’s Word fully in giving tithes, offerings, and alms. Tithe is the first fruits of your labor that belongs to God and is His design for maintaining and perpetuating the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Luke 11:42. Special Offerings were also given in order that the House of the Lord could be built and other special needs. 1 Chronicle 29:9. Alms were also given so that the needs of the poor could be met. Luke 11:41. We challenge our church to be cheerful & generous in every way.

Serve - In John 13:14-15 Jesus gave us this great example of Him first washing the feet of the disciples and then commanding them to go and do the same for others. Our expectation at Freedom Church is that each believer will serve in at least one area of ministry in the church. Serving is the great equalizer.  Everyone has the potential to serve regardless of your state in life.  You may not be able to give as much as someone else, but as we know, that’s not what God is looking for.   You may not be musically talented to lead worship. You may not have the ability to work with teenagers well, but there is always a place for you to serve God and others when you have a willing heart.
